Book of the Month: The Art of Arranging Flowers

Standard

Ruby Jewell knows flowers. In her twenty years as a florist she has stood behind the counter at the Flower Shoppe with her faithful dog, Clementine, resting at her feet. A customer can walk in, and with just a glance or a few words, Ruby can throw together the perfect arrangement for any occasion.

Whether intended to rekindle a romance, mark a celebration, offer sympathy, or heal a broken heart, her expressive floral designs mark the moments and milestones in the lives of her neighbours. It’s as though she knows just what they want to say, just what they need.

Yet Ruby’s own heart’s desires have gone ignored since the death of her beloved sister. It will take an invitation from a man who’s flown to the moon, the arrival of a unique little boy, and concern from a charming veterinarian to reawaken her wounded spirit. Any life can be derailed, but the healing power of community can put it right again. (Lynne Branard, The Art of Arranging Flowers)

Cinderella 2015!

Standard

I cannot express how excited I am to see this movie when it comes out! I have been waiting forever for Disney to start adapting some of their classic films into non-aninamation! I think the trailer looks absolutely fantastic and I’m sure the movie will be the same! Anything with Helena Bonham Carter and Cate Blanchett is sure to be a win. I can’t wait to take my youngest sister to see this, she likes to believe that she is the Cinderella of our family (although I am not sure why since I am pretty sure she is the favourite) and I know she will just love it!

I would like to personally recommend myself for the role of Ariel when Disney recreates the Little Mermaid. I have red hair, she has red hair, I love to swim, she is mermaid. It’s clearly a win-win situation. 😉

My Lame Life

Standard

I’ve written at least ten sentences on ten different topics and deleted them all. I have been living the most boring life and have absolutely nothing to write about. All I do is go to school, study, sleep, and go back to school. HOW LAME IS THAT? Extremely lame. I could go on and on about Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, but I just wrote a 3500 word paper on the topic and I really doubt anyone would really want to hear anything about that, especially because I don’t think my paper turned out that well.

I finally find the time to go somewhere tonight and I accidentally step into a manhole while walking to the the café that I am now at, and even that was more embarrassing than it was exciting. I also had some sort of freakish hand spasm and punched my tea cup. It spilt all over the barista and now she looks like she wet her pants.

Here’s hoping for a little more excitement, and a little less embarrassment 😉
